Our Process

Every structure we build is bespoke. From first enquiry to final installation, our process is considered, transparent and professionally managed, ensuring each gazebo or timber structure feels purposeful, balanced and built to last.

Every project begins with a conversation.

1. Initial Enquiry & Consultation

Each Shirewood structure follows a carefully considered journey from initial conversation to final installation

We discuss your space, intended use and preferred style, offering guidance on proportions, roof designs and positioning within the garden. Whether contemporary or traditional, we ensure the structure complements its surroundings.

At this stage, we provide clear advice on sizing and budget expectations so you can move forward with confidence.

2. Deposit, Drawings & Written Quotation

A deposit secures your build slot within our schedule.

Upon receipt of the deposit, we prepare detailed drawings along with a clear written quotation outlining specifications, dimensions and agreed details.

This stage gives you the opportunity to carefully review all measurements, proportions and design elements before manufacture begins. It allows you to visualise the structure within your space and confirm you are completely happy with every detail prior to build.

No timber is cut until everything is agreed.

3. Craftsmanship & Manufacture

All structures are built to order and individually crafted.

At present, all gazebos are made on site, allowing us to oversee every stage of the manufacturing process personally. This ensures quality control, precision and consistency in every component.

Working with carefully selected timber and traditional joinery principles, each element is prepared with accuracy and attention to detail. Our background in historic timber framing informs every build, ensuring strength, longevity and architectural presence.

These are not temporary garden features, they are permanent additions to the landscape.

4. Preparation & Planning

Before installation, we provide clear guidance on site preparation, access requirements and base considerations.

Where necessary, we advise on foundations and layout positioning to ensure the structure sits naturally within its environment.

Careful preparation ensures a seamless installation process.

5. Professional Installation

Our in-house team delivers each installation with precision and care.

From accurate setting out to final finishing details, every structure is fitted respectfully and securely. We work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship, leaving the site clean and ready to enjoy.

Installation is available nationwide.

6. Completion & Final Balance

Once installation is complete, we carry out a final inspection and walk through the structure with you to ensure you are fully satisfied.

When you are happy with your gazebo and everything has been signed off, the balance payment is due on the day of completion.

We also provide guidance on timber care and long-term maintenance so your structure continues to perform beautifully for years to come.

Lead Times

We limit the number of projects taken on at any one time to maintain quality and attention to detail.

As each gazebo is built to order, lead times vary depending on season and workload.

Typically, lead times range from approximately:

3–4 weeks during winter months

Up to 8–9 weeks during peak spring and summer periods

We will confirm an estimated installation timeframe at the point of deposit so you have clarity from the outset.
